Secondary glazing involves installing an extra pane of glass onto the inside of an existing single-glazed window. It provides significant improvements to thermal efficiency and security and limits exterior noise. Common applications for secondary glazing includes homes, offices, schools and places of worship, as well as listed buildings or homes situated in conservation areas where replacing the windows is made difficult due to planning restrictions.Get a Quote
We manufacture secondary glazing for use on both windows and doors. Fixed, hinged, lift out, vertical and horizontal sliding units are available, ensuring there’s an option suitable to a wide range of unique projects. Along with the aforementioned benefits, secondary glazing helps to eliminate draughts, resulting in more comfortable interior spaces. The profiles we use are also incredibly slim, allowing smaller sightlines to be created, so light intake isn’t affected adversely.
Numerous glazing options are available, namely 4mm or 6mm float or toughened glass or panels, 6.4mm laminated glass and 6.8mm laminated acoustic glass. Acoustic glass provides an additional boost to noise insulation whilst toughened glass is substantially more difficult to break, improving window security significantly.Secondary Glazing Infographic
